Public bodies, including local-authority-maintained schools, are covered by the public sector equality duty in the Equality Act 2010.
As part of our duties we publish:
an Equalities Information profile of our school based upon the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010 – this is updated and published every year
our school’s Equality Objectives – these are reviewed annually and updated at least once every 4 years. Our current objectives(2022) are:
- To raise levels of attainment in core subjects for vulnerable learners
- To promote pupils’ understanding of identity, diversity, community and equality
- To review levels of parental and pupil engagement in learning and school life across all activities to ensure equity and fairness in access and engagement
- To continue to ensure that pupils with SEND receive equal opportunities to enable them to succeed
