Physical Education at Ropery Walk
At Ropery Walk we work closely with the Easington School Sport Partnership to deliver a varied and inclusive Physical Education programme. Each year group follows an established pattern throughout the year that includes Games, Gymnastics, Athletics and more, covering a wide range of activities. We take children swimming each term and also run various clubs and participate in local competitions throughout the year.

What’s Happening in School this Term?
The EYFS children have been learning some gymnastics; they’ve been using some of the equipment to experiment with gymnastic movement and have had a great time!
What’s Been Happening in School this Year?
In reception, our children learned about movement and began to throw and catch.
In Key Stage 1 they looked at Dance and Gymnastics; how to make shapes with their bodies and making some dance routines.
In Key Stage 2 they focused on Games and Gymnastics also, including hockey, basketball and partner work.
School Dance Festival
On the last Wednesday of the Easter term the whole school took part in the annual Dance Festival. Each class had carefully prepared and practised a routine to show off to students and staff alike, and we gathered in the Sports Hall to watch each other perform. It was a wonderful event and everyone danced well, whether stepping in time to Disney songs or cartwheeling to chart hits. Look through the slideshow below to see some snaps of the classes performing!
